Description
Ulwell Cottage, originally listed as Ulwell House, dates from the 18th century. It features walls made of Purbeck Stone and a Purbeck Stone roof, with rendered stacks. The building is two storeys high with attics and has an L-shaped plan, with the rear wing and the eastern section of the front wing being later additions. There is a single-storey extension to the west, which appears to be a former outbuilding now topped with a corrugated asbestos roof.
The main building has a central door with an arched head and two modern casement windows that have brick arches. On the first floor, there are two similar windows. The eastern section includes a two-storeyed timber canted bay window, which now features modern casements. The attic has two dormers with slated pent roofs and double-hung sash windows. A low stone boundary wall surrounds the property.
