Description

Violet Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the late 17th century, with some changes to its windows. It features rubble-stone walls and a thatched roof, which has stone gable copings and moulded kneelers. There is a 20th-century brick chimney at the east gable. The cottage is two storeys high and has two windows, which are 3-light 20th-century wooden casements with horizontal glazing bars. The wooden cills support the windows, and the 3-light casements above have ovolo-moulded mullions and pegged frames. The front door, located at the centre, is a plank door with one glass light, also from the 20th century, and it has a wooden lintel above it.
