Description
Hill Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the 17th century. It features rubble-stone walls and a thatched roof with gable ends, stone gable-copings, and moulded kneelers. There are brick stacks at the gable ends, and the building is 1½ storeys high.
The cottage has three windows; on the ground floor, there are four-light hollow-chamfered stone mullions with separate returned labels. The upper windows are eyebrow dormers that contain 20th-century wooden casements with three, two, and three lights. The front door is centrally located, made of planks and studded, with two strap hinges, dating to around the 18th century, and features a wooden lintel.
In the garden wall, there is a reset stone bearing the initials I. and A.B. and the date 1697.
