Description
The Post House is an attached house and cottage dated 1772, as indicated by a stone tablet above the front door. It features red brick walls laid in Flemish bond, with projecting brick quoin-work. The roof is made of slate, with stone gable copings and kneelers, and there are brick stacks at each gable. The building has two storeys and three windows, which are three-light 20th-century wooden casements with horizontal glazing bars and wooden cills. Above the front door is a two-light casement. The ground floor windows have segmental brick arches. The central front entrance is framed by a moulded stone architrave, a plain frieze, and a moulded cornice, leading to a panelled door from the 20th century.
At the east end, there is an attached cottage from the early 19th century, also with brick walls and a slate roof featuring stone gable coping. This cottage has two storeys, with a canted bay window on the left side at ground level, a fixed window with five panes and glazing bars, and a two-light wooden casement with glazing bars to the right. Above this, there is another two-light wooden casement. The east end wall displays three feathers, representing the Duchy of Cornwall.
