Description

Manor Farm Cottages comprises two attached former farmhouses, dating from the late 17th or early 18th century. The buildings are constructed of coursed rubble-stone walls, with a chamfered Ham stone plinth and plat-band. The roof is covered with double-Roman tiles, featuring stone gable-copings. There are 20th-century brick stacks located at the left-hand gable, the central ridge, and the right-hand gable. The cottages are two storeys high, with a cellar in number 2 and attics above. There are four windows, reflecting the appearance of two regular facades placed side by side. The windows have stone mullions; those on the ground floor to the left are ovolo-moulded, while the remainder are hollow-chamfered, with 2-, 4-, 4- and 4-light arrangements. Wooden casements are visible on the ground floor. The first floor of number 1 has three 3-light 20th-century mullions, fitted with 20th-century metal casements. The front door at the left centre has chamfered stone jambs and lintel, with a 20th-century stable-type door. The right-centre door features a stone architrave with moulded stone brackets and a canopy, dating to the 18th century, and is fitted with a 6-panel, flush-and-fielded door.
