Description

Railway Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the late 17th century. It features flint and rubble-stone walls and a thatched roof, which has a gable end on the left side and is hipped on the right side. There are brick stacks located at the left gable and at the ridge to the right of the center. The cottage has two storeys and three windows, which are 2- and 3-light casements made of 20th-century metal with lead lights. The front door, positioned at the center, is flush-panelled with two top lights and is also from the 20th century. A wooden porch with a pitched tile roof enhances the entrance.

Inside, the left-hand ground floor room features mid-chamfered ceiling beams. There is an outbuilding at the left end of the cottage, constructed from random chalk block and rubble stone, topped with a clay tile roof. The door of the outbuilding is of the same type as the front door, dating from the 20th century.
