Description

The Galpen Monument is a table-tomb located one metre north of the nave of the Church of St Peter in Toller Porcorum. It dates from the mid-18th century and is made of stone. The tomb features fielded-panel pilasters and a moulded top block. There is an inscription on the fielded panel, although it is half obliterated. The inscription reads, "Here lieth the body of __ Galpen, the Son of _____ Galpen, who died July ye..... ...... and John Galpen Dec. the 2nd. 1754."
