Description
Mary Jane Cottage is a detached cottage located on the south side of High Street in Toller Porcorum. It dates from the 17th century or earlier, with some rebuilding at the rear in the 20th century. The cottage features walls made of chalk block and cob, along with flint rubble and brick quoins. The thatched roof has a gable end on the left side and is hipped on the right side. There are two 20th-century brick stacks on the ridge, one left of center and another at the junction with the front wing. The cottage is 1½ storeys high and has two windows, which are 2-light wooden casements with glazing bars, wooden cills, and lintels. The door, located to the left of the front wing, is a 20th-century design with nine upper lights.
