Description
Portland Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the early 17th century. It features chalk block walls with lias stone quoins and some flint banding. The roof is thatched with gable ends, and the south gable is rendered. There are 20th-century brick stacks at each gable. The cottage is 1½ storeys high and has three windows, which are three-light wooden casements with horizontal glazing bars, wooden lintels above, and concrete cills. It also has three large eyebrow dormers with wooden casements. The front door is centrally located, flush-panelled with nine top lights, and is a 20th-century addition. There is a continuous outshut at the north end, covering half of the rear wall.
