Description
No. 8 Chamberlaine Road is a house in a row, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features Flemish bond brickwork and a slate mansard roof with a hipped outer end. The building has three storeys and one window. A two-light small-pane casement raking dormer sits on brackets above a two-storey flat bow oriel, which has 8:12:8-pane sash windows with dentil cornices at each level. To the right, there is an arched doorway with half-brick voussoirs above a six-panel flush 19th-century door, which has an abbreviated radial fanlight. The house also has a thin rendered cornice band, a rendered blocking course, and rendered returns. Notably, it has a large square stack that rises well above the adjacent property. At the rear, there is a low gabled range with rubble walls. The interior has not been inspected.
