Description
Nos. 2, 4, and 6 Chamberlaine Road is a terrace of three houses built in the early 19th century. The front features good Flemish bond brickwork, with rendered returns and a slate half-hipped roof. The buildings are three storeys tall with an attic, each having one window. The flat-roofed dormers have 4-pane sash windows with part-glazed cheeks. On the second floor, there are 6-pane sash windows, which may have originally been 12-pane, set in flush boxes with splayed rendered lintels. The first floor has bold canted oriels with 10:20:10-pane sashes above arched sashes at the ground floor, which also features arched doorways with plain fanlights. Nos. 2 and 4 have later lean-to porches. The houses have a stone plinth, an eaves band, and moulding, with two large ridge stacks and a smaller stack on the right gable end. The rear of the properties includes a single dormer for each house, 16-pane flush sashes, and staircase sashes, along with some later extensions. The interior has not been inspected.
