Description
Hillside House is a house located at the end of a row on Portland Road in Wyke Regis, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of rubble with brick dressings, although it was formerly rendered, with some rendering still visible at the right-hand end next to No. 6. The house has a slate roof and consists of two storeys and an attic, featuring three wide-spaced windows. There is an original hipped dormer with a two-light casement that is centrally positioned on the roof slope, above well-detailed replacement six-pane sashes set in brick dressings. Between the first and second bays, there is a 20th-century door in a brick-dressed opening with a slight segmental head. A large square chimney stack rises from the ridge. The gable return to the left includes sash windows. The interior has not been inspected.
