Description
No. 10 Chamberlaine Road is a house in a row, dating from the early 17th century with later 18th century window features. The front wall is constructed of large squared dressed Portland stone blocks, with rendering and a slate roof. The front range has its left gable set back from the wall below and is tile-hung, alongside an early rear wing. The house is two storeys high with two windows; each floor features a 12-pane sash window and a tripartite sash window with a 4:12:4 pane configuration, all set in flush boxes under plain stone lintels. There is an off-centre, left-positioned 20th century door with a moulded architrave, topped by a small flat hood. To the left, there is a lean-to, and two 20th century casements are located in the gable wall. A stack is positioned at the rear. Inside, the house is said to retain an early 17th century fireplace with a corbelled four-centred head and chamfered jambs.
