Description
No. 61 Church Street is a house in a row, dating from the early 19th century. It features Flemish bond brickwork, a slate roof, and a brick chimney stack. The property is tall and deep, appearing to have been completely rebuilt in the early 19th century, with a hipped low-pitched roof behind a parapet. It has four storeys and a basement, with a two-windowed facade. The third floor has 8-pane sash windows, while the second floor has 16-pane sashes, including one at ground level positioned to the right of the door. These windows are set within brick voussoirs and stone cills. On the far left, there is a well-crafted six-panel fielded door beneath a fanlight, framed by a pilaster surround with a moulded open pediment. The reveals of the door are panelled to match. To the right of the door, there is a grille for a basement light. A brick stack is located on the right side of the building. The interior has not been inspected.
