Description
No. 62 Church Street is a house in a row, built in the late 18th century, with earlier work in the wing at the back. It features English bond brickwork and a hipped slate roof behind a coped parapet, along with a brick stack. The building has three storeys and a basement, with two windows. The windows are 12-pane sashes set in brick voussoirs and stone cills. On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century multi-pane shop front above a grilled opening to the basement. To the left, there is a three-panel door with a radial fanlight, situated in a Doric doorcase that has an open moulded pediment and matching panelled reveals. A stone foot-scraper is located to the right of the door, and the entrance to the shop is accessed from a side passage. There is a brick stack on the right party wall. The interior has not been inspected.
