Description
No. 60 Church Street is a house with a shop, dating from the 16th century. It has been refronted in late 18th century painted Flemish bond brick and features a tile roof. The property has a narrow frontage and a parallel plan, with a transverse ridge behind a parapet front and a deep back wing. It is two storeys high and has two windows; the first floor has 20th century replacement sashes set under half-brick segmental arches. On the ground floor, there is a tripartite small-pane window with 8:12:8 panes beneath a wooden fascia, which continues above a 20th century glazed door with a two-pane transom light. To the far left, there is a plank door leading to a throughway, which is topped by a segmental arch. The stone parapet has coping, and no chimney stack is visible from the street. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to have an exposed timber frame.
