Description
No. 55, Church Street is an early to mid-18th century narrow-frontage house situated in a row. It is constructed of painted brick with a tile roof and a brick stack. The house is three storeys high and has a single window on each upper floor. The windows are 12-pane sashes set within moulded face boxes, which are situated under splayed, V-jointed rendered voussoirs. At ground floor, a full-width beam covers a wider 12-pane sash window, and to the left is a 6-panel flush door with a 3-pane transom-light above. The ground floor may have originally housed a shop front. A coped parapet tops the building, with a rendered stack located on the right side. The interior has not been inspected.
