Description
Monarch House is a house located on East Street in Weymouth, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The building is rendered and features a slate double mansard roof. It has two storeys and an attic, with a single window. Above the two-storey bow window, which has eight over twelve over eight panes and a dentil cornice with vertical boarded skirts, there is a flat dormer with a two-light casement. To the left of the bow window, there is a 20th-century door set on one stone step, accompanied by a three-pane transom light. The gabled right return of the house has a single light at attic level and two chimney stacks. The rear of the building includes a dormer and a large four-pane sash window, along with a long slated one-storey wing. This house was originally part of a pair, but the adjoining No. 14 has been demolished. The interior has not been inspected.
