Description

Clarence Buildings is a house in a terrace, dating to the late 18th century and substantially rebuilt and raised in the early 19th century. Originally part of a pair with No.22, it has been considerably altered, and retains a shared entrance doorway with that property. The exterior is painted brickwork with a replica slate mansard roof. The building is three storeys and an attic, featuring a single window. A flat-roofed dormer window sits above a three-storey, flat-bowed front. The second floor has a six-pane sash window, while the ground and first floors have sashes with eight, twelve, and eight panes, respectively. All windows are topped with a frieze band and a slight cornice, under a blocking course and parapet. The entrance door, within a moulded architrave, shares a cornice with the door of No.22. A tall chimney stack is located to the left. Inside, the hallway features dado panelling.
