Description

The mile post located outside No. 56 on Salisbury Street dates from the early to mid 19th century. It is triangular in shape and made of cast iron, featuring panelled sides and a downward pointing apex above a central band. The mile post has inscriptions on its panels: the left panel reads "Sherborn 15," the right panel states "Salisbury 20," and the central panel displays the words "St Peters Shaftesbury."
