Description

No. 80 Elwell Street is a house in a row, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed and squared Portland stone and has an asbestos-cement slate roof. The building is two storeys high with a symmetrical front featuring two windows. The windows are three-light casements with a horizontal bar and timber lintels. A large 20th-century gabled porch covers the 20th-century door, which has a blocked fanlight above it. There are brick stacks at each gable and a gabled rear wing. The interior has not been inspected. The house has a steep-pitched roof that may have originally been thatched. It was likely built later than the adjoining properties, as the party wall to the left appears to be part of the structure for No. 82.
