Description
Lawrence's Cottage is a former farmhouse dating from the early to mid-18th century. It features rubble-stone walls and a thatched roof with gable ends, along with a catslide over the rear outshut. There are 19th-century brick stacks at the gable ends, and the building is one and a half storeys tall. It has four windows, which include two- and three-light large wooden casements with glazing bars set in extended openings, and wooden cills. There are two wooden lintels on the right side, and one small wooden casement with glazing bars located at the upper centre left. The upper floor windows have large eyebrows and are 20th-century enlargements of the original openings.
At the centre of the south wall, there is a porch made of rubble-stone with a slate pentice roof, featuring a plank door on the east side with one glass light. The current entrance door is located at the rear and is a 20th-century addition with a thatch canopy above. Inside, the cottage has open fireplaces with wooden lintels over each gable, and the ceiling beams have a slight chamfer.
