Description
Bridge Foot Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with early 19th-century additions. It is constructed from coursed rubble gritstone and features quoins, intermediate and end ashlar ridge stacks, plain gables, and a stone slated roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, with the eastern end being an addition. The two earlier bays contain 2-light flush mullioned windows and 19th-century casements with horizontal glazing bars. The additional bay has single light openings in plain stone frames, one of which includes a 20th-century top hung light. There is an off-centre doorway with massive jambs and a heavy lintel, leading to a six-panelled door with the upper two panels glazed. A blocked doorway is located at the junction of the earlier and later work. The rear elevation features a catslide roof at the west end and a flush mullioned window from the 18th century. The lean-to roof at the east end of the catslide is covered with massive stone slabs.
