Description

Kray Cottage and No 4, Chapel Row are a pair of cottages built in the mid 18th century. They are constructed from coursed rubble gritstone, featuring quoins, plain gables, and end ashlar ridge stacks, all topped with a stone slated roof. The cottages are two storeys high and consist of two bays, with each bay showcasing stacked 3-light flush mullioned windows. The windows on the southwest side have 19th-century casements with horizontal glazing bars. There are two doorways, both with large frames; the doorway on the southwest has a drip mould above the lintel. The doors are plain and planked, with the northeast door having glazed lights in the upper part. At the rear, there are single-storey offshoots with catslide roofs.
