Description
Tythe House is a former barn that has been converted into a house. It dates from the late 17th century and has later additions, with alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed from coursed rubble gritstone and features quoins, coped gables with moulded kneelers, and a single 20th-century ridge stack at the west end. The roof is stone slated. The house is two storeys high and consists of four bays, with single-storey additions at both ends. There is an off-centre segmental arched opening that is now glazed, along with three former taking-in doorways on the first floor, which are also now glazed. The west end has a former doorway with a substantial surround, now fitted with 20th-century glazed doors, and there are two former doorways at the east end, which are also glazed. The single-storey extensions feature 20th-century glazing. The building is listed for its group value only.
