Description

This is a house with a shopfront, built in the early 19th century, with a 19th-century shop front. The exterior is whitewashed and rendered, topped with a slate roof that has gables at both ends, and features a brick chimney on the left gable end. The building has three storeys and a two-window front. There is a six-panel door on the right side of the front, which is topped by a large rectangular fanlight. To the left of the door, the shop front has panelled pilasters with moulded capitals that support a fascia. The shop window is divided by a blind panel in the middle and is subdivided to create two large panes per light. On the first floor to the left, there is a 19th-century 12-pane hornless sash window. The second floor has two 19th-century 16-pane hornless sash windows, while the fourth window has a late 19th or early 20th-century horned sash that is half plated. The interior has not been inspected. This house is part of a notable group with other houses on the east side of Old Post Office Hill and is included for its group value.
