Description

Woodley House is an early 19th-century house with a shop front, situated on the east side of Old Post Office Hill in Stratton. The building is constructed of rendered and colourwashed rubble stone, with a hipped slate roof and brick chimneys at the right end and rear. It is three storeys tall and has a two-window front. A recessed four-panel door is located on the front left side, sheltered by a projecting cornice which extends over the shop front. A half-glazed shop door, with four panes and a rectangular fanlight, is positioned between the two window bays. The canted bay shop windows hold four panes and two panes to each return, with the upper panes having elliptical heads. A king-post roof is present. The interior has not been inspected. Woodley House is included for group value as part of a larger collection of buildings along Old Post Office Hill.
