Description
Tree View is an early 19th-century house located on the east side of Fore Street, Stratton. The house has a whitewashed and plastered exterior, with a slate roof hipped at the right end and a rendered brick chimney at the same side. It is a three-story building with a two-window front. A nine-panel door is located on the front at the left, sheltered by a large rectangular fanlight. The ground floor has two 4-pane horned sash windows. A similar sash window is located above the front door on the first floor, while the other first-floor window is a 12-pane hornless sash. The second floor windows are also 12-pane hornless sashes. A small 6-pane window, dating back to the 19th century, is set under the eaves of the hipped roof and looks down the hill. The interior of the house has not been inspected. Tree View forms part of a group of buildings on the east side of Old Post Office Hill and is included in the listing for its group value.
