Description

Tree Hill House is an early 19th-century house that was formerly used as a shop. The exterior is whitewashed and rendered, with a rag slate roof painted with bitumen. A rendered stack is located at the right end. The building is two storeys high with a two-window front. Steps lead to a six-panel front door situated on the right side of the front, above which is a rectangular fanlight with glazing bars. A shop front occupies the left side of the front, featuring a central door and two-bay windows, all set under a slated pent roof. The shop door is a 19th-century panelled double door with a rectangular fanlight above. The shop windows are divided into 22 panes, with 5 panes to each return and a large central pane on the front. The first floor features two 19th-century 12-pane hornless sash windows, each fitted with shutters. The interior was not inspected. The house contributes to the group value of buildings along the east side of Old Post Office Hill.
