Description

This is an early 19th-century house with shops, located on Pilton Street in Barnstaple. The front of the building is solid and rendered, with a slate roof and an old red brick chimney on the left side wall. It is two storeys high, with a three-window front. The ground floor has mirrored shop fronts on either side of a recessed doorway, with pilasters supporting an entablature. The shop windows have 16 panes, and the doorways are canted where they meet the house door, featuring a well-worn stone step. The doors themselves are from the mid to late 20th century. The upper-storey windows are 8-paned sashes, with the centre window being blind. A moulded eaves board runs along the top of the building. The interior has not been inspected.
