Description

This is a house, likely dating from the early 18th century or possibly earlier, and rendered with a finish typical of the early 19th century. The roof is slate-covered, and a rebuilt red brick chimney stands on the right gable end. The house is two storeys high with a three-window front. The central doorway features four panels with vertical bead-moulding; it has an iron knocker shaped as a wreath and the upper panels are glazed. Bow windows rise through both storeys, flanked on either side of the doorway, each with 10-paned sashes. Above the doorway is a box-framed window with 8-paned sashes, and all sashes have horns. A broad cement band runs between the storeys, possibly designed to support a former inn sign. The eaves are finished with a boxed cornice. The interior of the building was not inspected.
