Description
A house, likely built in the early 18th century, was remodelled in the early 19th century and had a shop front inserted in the late 19th century. The front is solid and rendered, with a slate roof. An original red brick chimney runs along the ridge, and two more (one heightened) are on the left side wall. The house is two storeys with a garret, featuring a four-window front. A doorway has replaced a ground-floor window, with a door featuring six flush panels. A flat-roofed bow window has eight-paned sashes to the left, and a shop front is on the right, with display windows and a recessed three-quarter-glazed door. The shop front’s fascia is flanked by bracketed panelled blocks topped with triangular pediments. A raised band marks the junction between the two storeys. The second-floor windows have six-paned sashes and moulded architraves. Boxed eaves cornices are present, along with two dormer windows with gently curved tops; the left one has a two-light wooden casement with two panes per light. The interior remains unexamined.
