Description
Toms is a house dating from the late 18th century, located on the south side of Lansallos Quay Road in Polperro. It is constructed of painted stone rubble and features a slate roof with gable ends. A stone rubble chimney stack with a brick shaft is positioned on the left-hand gable end. The house has a single depth plan consisting of one room with an entrance hall to the right. It is built into the side of a hill, with the ground rising to the rear. The property is raised above pavement level, accessed by stone rubble steps that lead up to the entrance, as well as to an adjoining property known as The Smugglers House and further up the hill to the rear. The house has two storeys and a regular two-window front. On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century two-light casement window with glazing bars and a 20th-century part-glazed stable door to the right. Above, there are two 20th-century two-light casements aligned with the ground floor openings. The left-hand corner of the ground floor is splayed. The interior has not been inspected.
