Description
Corner Cottage is a shop with accommodation above, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble, with part of the upper section slate-hung on the harbour side. The building features a slate roof with hipped ends and has a single depth plan.
The ground floor is open plan for the shop, with an entrance to the first and second floor accommodation located on the west side. The east elevation facing the harbour has three storeys and a two-window front, which includes a 20th-century glazed door on the left and a large 20th-century 15-pane shop window on the right. The first and second floors contain two 19th-century 12-pane sash windows with horns. There is also a likely 20th-century shop window on the ground floor of the Lansallos Street elevation to the north. The entrance to the accommodation is on the west elevation, which rises to the side, featuring 19th-century 12-pane sashes and a 20th-century glazed door. The building is included for its group value.
