Description
Pendennis is a house with a store in the basement, dating from around the mid-18th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a cement-washed rag slate roof with hipped ends. The chimney stacks have rendered brick shafts located at the hipped ends. The building likely has a two-room and cross passage plan, which has been extended by a three-storey front projecting wing at the higher left-hand end, known as Shalom.
In front of the house, there is a small courtyard enclosed by Jews House at the front and later shop premises on the lower hipped end to the right, which overlooks the harbour. The façade is asymmetrical with three storeys and a single-window front. The entrance to the basement is on the left and features a plank door. The first-floor entrance is accessed by a flight of stone rubble steps and includes a projecting part-glazed 19th-century porch at the angle of Pendennis and Shalom, with a part-glazed door. To the right and above this entrance, there is a 19th-century four-pane sash window. The interior has not been inspected.
