Description
This guide post, dating from the late 19th century, was manufactured by Visick and Sons in Devoran. It is made of cast iron and features a round fluted shaft topped with a bracketted round hub or collars. Three pointers are bolted to the hub and are capped by a moulded finial with an ogee shape. The pointers are attached at their lower corners and have rounded edges with embossed inscriptions. The left-hand (west) pointer indicates distances to Stithians (3 miles), Redruth (4.5 miles), Camborne (6 miles), and Fourlanes (6 miles). The middle pointer shows distances to Porkellis (1.5 miles) and Helston (6 miles). The right-hand pointer lists Rame (2 miles) and Penryn (6 miles).
