Description
This guide post, dating from the early 20th century, is made of cast iron and features a round shaft. It has embossed letters on two adjustable pointers, which have rounded corners and are secured by bolted collars at the upper part of the shaft, just above a moulded cornice. The two collars are topped with a moulded ball and a spear-headed finial. The left-hand pointer indicates distances to Mawnan Smith (1 mile), Penryn (5¼ miles), Falmouth (6¼ miles), and Truro (13½ miles). The right-hand pointer shows the distance to Helford Passage (½ mile).
