Description
This is a house located at 32 Fair Street in St Columb Major, built in the mid to late 19th century with few later alterations. The structure is made of stone rubble, rendered and lined out, topped with a rag slate roof featuring crested ridge tiles and gable ends. It has gable end stacks with brick shafts.
The house has a two-room plan, with each room being of equal size and heated from a gable end stack. The front entrance is centrally located and accessed through a conservatory porch.
The exterior is two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window front. On the first floor, there are three plate-glass sash windows with margin panes, each having a rounded head, set in small gabled dormers. The ground floor features similar plate-glass sash windows with margin panes and cambered arches on either side, all dating from the 19th century. The central rectangular glazed porch includes stained glass and margin glazing, a dentil cornice, and a half-glazed margin-glazed door on the left side. Inside, there is a 19th-century half-glazed inner door with two segmental arched lights. The right side of the house has an 8-pane sash window on the ground floor and a margin-glazed sash window on the first floor, both located on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
