Description

Clarendon House is a mid-19th century house, now divided into multiple occupancies, located on the east side of Bank Street in St Columb Major. The construction is of stone rubble, with a pebbledashed front, and features a slate roof with gable ends. It has gable end stacks; the left stack is brick, while the right stack has a panelled stone shaft with a cornice.

The house is laid out with a double depth plan, featuring an entrance set slightly to the left, a large front room to the right, and a smaller front room to the left. It likely has rear service rooms. The three-storey, nearly symmetrical front has a four-window arrangement. All windows are 19th century, positioned within eared architraves. The exterior details include a plinth and a band course, along with strip pilasters. On the ground floor, there is one window to the left and two to the right, all with 16 panes. A 19th century six-panelled door, with an overlight, sits within an eared surround with a cornice. The first floor contains three 16-pane sashes to the right and one 20th century window to the left. The second floor has four 8-pane sashes. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
