Description

ST COLUMB MAJOR BANK STREET (west side), SW 9063-9163 St Columb Major 17/189 No 12 - GV II

House. Circa mid C19 with few later alterations. Rendered stone rubble. Bitumenised slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stack to right with C20 brick shaft. Plan: 2-room plan, with a larger room to right and smaller room to left, and the entrance between. Rear service wing to right. Exterior: 2 storeys, nearly symmetrical 2-window front. All windows are C19 4-pane sashes with external shutters except the window at ground floor to left, which is a plate-glass sash. Off-centre to left a C20 panelled and glazed door set in a plain recessed porch. The rear wing is arranged in an L-plan; at the rear a 2-storey rubble wing with hipped roof, C20 door and window at ground floor and C20 window at first floor. Single storey lean-to to left with C20 window. Former stable attached to right with cart entrance and door, 12-pane sash at first floor. Interior: Not inspected.
