Description
No. 22 is a house located on the west side of Fore Street in St Columb Major, dating from around the mid-19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The front is made of elvan ashlar with granite dressings, while the right side is rendered and slate-hung. It has a bitumenised slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends, featuring a gable end stack on the left with a brick shaft.
The house has a two-room plan, with one room at the front and one at the rear on the left, both heated by the gable end stack. The entrance is located on the right. The exterior is two storeys high and has a nearly symmetrical two-window front. All windows are late 19th-century four-pane sashes; those on the first floor have flat stone arches and keystones, while the ground floor windows are larger and feature voussoirs. There is a 20th-century half-glazed door to the right, which also has voussoirs. The right side of the house is rendered at ground floor level and slate-hung at first floor level, with a 20th-century window on the first floor to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
