Description
This building is a store located to the west of Harbour Studio in Polperro, likely originally a coal store that was later used as a shop and is now a store. It dates from the early 19th century. The structure is made of painted stone rubble and features an asbestos slate roof, which has a hipped end on the left side and a gable end on the right side. It has a single-room plan, and the front wall rises from the harbour walls. The single-storey elevation facing the harbour includes a reused 19th-century three-light horizontally sliding sash window with a varied pattern of glazing bars on the left and a two-light casement window on the right. The elevation facing the Warren has two pairs of plank doors. The interior provides simple store accommodation. A photograph from around 1856 by Lewis Harding partly illustrates the store, showing the harbour elevation with a blocked window on the left and a rag slate roof. This building is included for its group value.
