Description

NORTH HILL PORT LANE SX 27 NE 4/161 House with steps and gate to front 20 metres to north of Port Lane Cottage II House and steps and gate to front. Circa early to mid C19. Stone rubble with granite quoins and dressings. Slate roof with gable ends. Granite end stacks. Plan: Double depth plan with central entrance. Two principal rooms to front heated by end stacks and service rooms to rear. Small C19 outshut on right hand end. Exterior: Two storeys. Symmetrical 3 window front. C20 panelled door in centre flanked by two C19 16-pane hornless sashes with three similar sashes on first floor. To rear, C20 windows on ground floor and C19 16-pane hornless sashes on first. On right hand end, lean-to outshut with granite piers infilled with stone rubble and slate lean-to roof. To front is a C19 iron gate and flight of granite steps leading up to the house. Interior: Not inspected.
