Description
This house, located 20 meters north of Port Lane Cottage, dates from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble with granite quoins and dressings, topped with a slate roof featuring gable ends and granite end stacks. The building has a double depth plan with a central entrance, consisting of two main rooms at the front heated by end stacks, and service rooms at the rear. There is a small 19th-century outshut on the right-hand end.
The exterior is two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window front. The central entrance features a 20th-century panelled door, flanked by two 19th-century 16-pane hornless sash windows, with three similar sash windows on the first floor. At the rear, there are 20th-century windows on the ground floor and 19th-century 16-pane hornless sashes on the first floor. The right-hand end has a lean-to outshut with granite piers infilled with stone rubble and a slate lean-to roof. In front of the house, there is a 19th-century iron gate and a flight of granite steps leading up to the entrance. The interior has not been inspected.
