Description
Treloweth House is an 18th-century house located on Tredrea Road in St Erth. The front is made of dressed, coursed granite that resembles ashlar, while the rest of the building is constructed from painted rubble. It has a steep hipped roof covered with grouted scantle slate, featuring modillions along the front eaves cornice, and large brick chimneys on the side walls.
The house has a double depth plan, consisting of two rooms at the front that flank an entrance hall leading to a stair hall, with rear service rooms included in an integral outshut. The exterior is two storeys high and nearly symmetrical, with a three-window arrangement on the south-southeast front and a centrally located doorway. The door is likely original, consisting of four panels with the top panels later glazed. The ground floor features tall openings with 16-pane hornless sash windows that have thick glazing bars, while the first floor has similar 12-pane sashes with high meeting rails.
Although the interior has not been inspected, it is likely to contain notable 18th-century features, including a staircase, chimneypieces, and joinery.
