Description

Trap house and stable, built around the mid-19th century, are located approximately 25 meters southwest of Higher Porthmeor Farmhouse. The structure is made of granite rubble with granite dressings and features a half-hipped roof covered with grouted scantle slate. The building has a rectangular plan, with the stable on the left and the trap house on the right, both having a loft above. There is a single-storey, one-room plan extension from the 19th century that adjoins the far right. The exterior is two storeys high and includes one window on the west front. The stable has a doorway on the left, which is partly blocked, and a wider trap house doorway on the right, both featuring old ledged doors. There is also a first-floor window or pitching eye to the left of the middle. The interior has not been inspected. This building is part of an unspoiled coastal hamlet situated within the ancient field system of this area of Cornwall.
