Description

Bosliven Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1852. The front and left side have incised cement render, which was applied in the 1930s, while the rest of the building is constructed from granite rubble with granite dressings. It features grouted scantle slate hipped roofs, with rendered stacks on the side walls and a brick chimney on the rear wall of the kitchen wing. The farmhouse has cast iron or aluminium ogee-section gutters and granite brackets under the eaves at the front.

The layout is L-shaped, with a double-depth design. There are later 19th-century lean-tos that fill the rear angle and a washhouse located behind the kitchen. The front of the house has two similar rooms flanking an entrance hall that leads to a stair hall, with shallow service rooms on either side and a large kitchen wing on the left side.

The exterior displays a symmetrical three-window front facing southeast, with a central doorway featuring an original six-panel door and twelve-pane hornless sash windows, except for horned copies to the right of the doorway. There are four similar windows on the left side of the kitchen and a horned copy by the stair.

The interior has not been inspected but is reported to be mostly complete, although some features, including the stair, have been covered with hardboard.
