Description

ST BURYAN SW 42 NW 5/27 America - GV II 2 adjoining cottages. Circa early C19, extended circa 1910. Granite rubble walls with granite dressings. Grouted scantle slate roof with gable ends and 5 gabled dormers at the front. Brick chimneys over original gable ends and over right-hand gable end of 1910 addition. Cast-iron ogee-section gutters and cast-iron down pipes. Plan: Long rectangular plan with later single-storey lean-tos at rear. Original 2- room-plan house on the left with probably lobby entrance and stair between the rooms. 1910 house on the right has similar but wider plan. Exterior: 2 storeys. Overall 5-window range. Original nearly symmetrical 2-window- front house on the left with doorway central to fenestration. Old 4-panel door. Similar but wider 3-window front on the right with original 1910 ledged door and overlight. Windows are probably 1910 horned sashes with marginal panes. First floor windows rise above the eaves level and are in stone gables. Interior not inspected.
