Description

The Corner House is a shop with associated living accommodation, dating from the early 19th century. It is built of granite rubble walls with granite dressings, and has a gabled and hipped roof covered with some scantle slate and some asbestos slate. A brick chimney stands over the left-hand end and between the house and the shop. The building has a slightly irregular L-shaped plan, likely with two rooms in depth.

The building presents a seven-window frontage, incorporating a double shopfront that spans the corner between two roads. To the left of the shopfront is a two-window fronted house, and to the right, the two-window front of living accommodation. The shopfront features a central six-panel door flanked by three elliptically-headed windows. It retains its original simple entablature. The original double shopfront has a pilaster at one end and a bracket at the right. Original six-panel doors with overlights are present at the house entrance and the entrance to the living accommodation. Original small-paned hornless sash windows, with mitred corners, are visible throughout. The interior has not been inspected.
