Description
Churchtown Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century. It features a front made of granite ashlar, while the rest of the building is constructed from granite rubble with granite dressings. The roof is covered with grouted scantle slate and has original dressed granite chimneys at the gable ends. The gutters are made of cast iron and have an ogee section.
The farmhouse has a double-depth plan, likely consisting of two similarly sized rooms at the front, which flank a central entrance hall that leads to a stair hall between the rear service rooms. The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical front with two windows on the south-west side and a central doorway. The doorway has a 20th-century door and a glazed porch. The windows are 4-pane horned sashes, likely added in the late 19th or 20th century. The interior has not been inspected.
