Description
Glebe Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the mid-19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed from stone rubble with granite dressings and quoins, while the right side is rendered. The roof is covered with slate and features ridge tiles and gable ends, along with deep eaves. There are gable end stacks with brick shafts. The building has a double depth plan, with a central entrance and principal rooms located to the front left and right. The kitchen is situated at the rear right, and the dairy is at the rear left, with a central stair at the back. Attached to the rear center is a small single-storey outhouse that is heated by a gable end stack.
The exterior of the farmhouse is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front. All windows are 19th-century 16-pane sashes with granite lintels. There is a central 19th-century open-fronted porch with a hipped roof and an inner half-glazed 20th-century door. On the left side, there is a 2-light 6-pane casement window at ground floor to the left and a 20th-century garage attached to the right. The right side of the building is blind. At the rear, the first floor features three 19th-century 16-pane sashes and a smaller 12-pane sash to the left. The ground floor has a 20th-century window to the left and a 16-pane sash to the right. The single-storey attached outhouse has a 20th-century door and window, along with a gable end stack that has a brick shaft. The interior has not been inspected.
